about the clay bodies

Three different stoneware clays are available for the Tableware Collection: a DARK BROWN clay, a BRICK RED clay, and a SPECKLED clay. All three clays are sourced from Standard Clay in Carnegie, Pennsylvania and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln.

about the glaze

I decorate all pieces in the Tableware Collection with a single, simple white glaze. The glaze is mixed in house and based on a recipe I learned at The Women’s Studio Workshop in upstate New York. It is non-toxic and food safe.

about the glaze styles

The three different glaze styles available for the Tableware Collection reveal more or less of the unglazed clay body. Unglazed or “raw” clay has a rustic touch and adds color and texture to your pieces.
